Wedding Registry Tips
The countdown to the big day is on, the burning question on everyone's mind:
Can I ask for cash or should I just stick to that 12th set of China?
I know, I know.
You want cold hard cash for your wedding but it's not OK to ask for it (and yes, it's still not OK to ask for cash)... so what do you do? One option is to create a registry.
Wedding registries can be a lot of fun and a great way to get the specific things you want for your new home.
With that in mind, here are some tips for creating and keeping track of your wedding registry:
Start early then update it later if necessary. This will prevent anyone who wants to give you a wedding gift from waiting until the last minute.
Make a list of not just what you want, but also what you need. Remember, these items that you are about to register will help you set up your new life together.
Include items from multiple price ranges —this will allow everyone who may be able or not be able to afford such items a chance or an option to get them.
Don't worry about having too many items on your wedding registry—the more options there are, the better for anyone planning to give you a gift!
Ask guests to ship them directly to your house, so you don't need to worry about carrying anything home with you!
Ultimately, as long as you communicate with your guests and place good items on your registry, you'll get the gifts you want. So don't worry about doing it perfectly (or even getting everything you want). Let’s talk, what is the most memorable gift you have ever received?
