The Benefits of a Wedding Rehearsal

Wow, just like that, 2022 has gone by and 2023 is inspiring us for new beginnings. How’s your new year going so far?

If you’re in the middle or almost nearing your wedding day, this question might be in your mind. Is a wedding rehearsal necessary?

The short answer is, MAYBE.

Let me explain...

If you're keeping things simple with no wedding party, or are super casual, a rehearsal might not be necessary.

However, If you have a formal wedding, have a larger wedding party, have not been in a ton of wedding parties, or want kids to be involved—it’s a good idea. The key to a perfect wedding is in the details—and a lot of details get worked out at a well-planned wedding rehearsal.

The benefits of having a wedding rehearsal include:

  • Knowing where you’re supposed to be and when, so everyone involved is on the same page.

  • Getting your nerves in check.

  • Giving everyone a chance to get acquainted with the roles they will play on your big day.

  • It's a wonderful opportunity for the wedding party, relatives and close friends to get acquainted and celebrate together.

  • Allowing the couple to take this time to thank everyone for their well wishes and presence on your special day.

Bottom line – if you want one, have one. If you don't want to have one, don't! If having a wedding rehearsal will make you feel at ease on your special day, then by all means do it! And if not, that's just fine too!
