Photo Ready!
As you're planning your wedding, you might be looking for a photographer. In this process, a million questions will pop into your head:
What should I be looking for?
What type of photography do I like?
How many hours do I need?
Do I need to like my photographer personally?
When will I get my photos?
All of the above are really great questions that we'll get into at another time. This week, I want to talk to you about the TYPES of photos I recommend for your wedding day. In my mind, there are two main types of photographs you'll want. And yes, you will 100% want BOTH. (Keep in mind, I'm not a photographer, have no skills in photography, or know any technical terms about photography. This is my personal advice.)
Posed, traditional photos: These photos are the traditional photos that you see in your parent's wedding albums. Everyone is standing (or sitting), looking at the camera, and very posed. I think these are such important pictures to have, especially the immediate family photos, to see your entire family together on your special day. Wedding party photos, photos with your grandparents, and immediate family photos are must-haves, in my opinion.
Candid, unstaged photos: Newer to weddings, candid photos capture more of the casual side of weddings and I'M OBSESSED. These photos feel more intimate, and capture the joy and love exuding from our couples.
My advice? Find a photographer that can take both - posed and candid photos. It's so important to capture all of your wedding day memories. Which do you prefer?
