PLEASE MEET :: Bride Kimberly and Groom Ammon

September 25, 2012

Kimberly and Ammon were a couple after my own heart. I loved everything from their vibrant personalities to their playful purple infused details.
Why do I LOVE purple so much? Because it was my wedding colors... and my hubby's favorite color! I can't help but get excited when couples go crazy over purple and pull it off as well as Kim and Ammon did. Pur-(ple)-fection!
Halekulani was the perfect setting for this elaborate wedding. Top notch service as always...
All purple aside, my ABSOLUTE favorite part of Kim and Ammon's wedding was the groom's cake. An Xbox shaped cake? Priceless!

Check out their video by Fisheye Studio... and get ready to be, well, SMITTEN!

NACE Meeting :: August

September 10, 2012

Wedding vendors gather every month at the National Association for Catering and Events (NACE) meetings for three of my favorite things: 1) Non-stop wedding talk 2) Meeting new wedding vendors and learning more about their business and 3) The ALWAYS delicious food!
Hawaii Tents & Events hosted the August NACE meeting and I got to catch up with David Louis of Dynamic Sounds, Linda Leung of the Hawaii Prince Hotel, James Chun of Crane Media, and Phil Grunenberg of Phil's Tux... all while dining under twinkling lights. What a treat!
My mouth is still watering at the sight of that roastbeef! Kudos to Kama'aina Catering for the yummy spread.
Desserts that TASTE as wonderful as they LOOK. Possible? I think so.

Hilton Hawaiian Village Site Visit

August 24, 2012

At the edge of Waikiki, sits the grand Hilton Hawaiian Village, a local favorite for weekend stay-cations and dreamy weddings. Earlier this summer I met with Events Manager, Patricia Hall, for a tour of the "village" and the inside scoop for weddings!

Brides, whether you're looking for an intimate wedding ceremony or need an elaborate location, the Hilton Hawaiian Village has a space for you. Say your I do's in the Ocean Crystal Chapel or on the Village Green where you can be sure to fit hundreds of your closest friends and family. Bonus? The 22 acre resort has plenty of picture perfect spots including the man made lagoon.

Guests will be WOWED at your reception in one of the many beautiful and spacious ballrooms. Not to mention the delicious food that guests wil be raving about prepared by Executive Chef Jeff (brides love Chef Jeff's culinary flair and down to Earth personality!).

Indoors and out, Hilton Hawaiian Village has so many spots for picture perfect weddings.

The Ocean Crystal Chapel sits in the middle of the Hilton Hawaiian Village with pristine white decor and tall, glass windows.

With a 22-acre property, I always encourage couples to walk around and scope out their favorite photo locations. My tip? As you get closer to your wedding date, take a stroll through your wedding venue during the same time of the day you'll be getting married to experience all natural elements... wind, sun, shade and of course, sunsets!

Can it get any better than this? Yes! Stay tuned to learn more about their NEW chapel that is rumored to be completed by 2013. I can't wait!

Vendor Spotlight :: Beaches and Backyards Catering

August 21, 2012

I went to visit our friends at Beaches and Backyards Catering to see their NEW kitchen in Haaula. Far, but totally worth the drive! These ladies can seriously cook.

Best thing about weddings? FOOD! I give chefs so much credit for their culinary talents. Head Chef and Owner Vanessa Hollinger, strives to use locally available products whenever possible. No wonder everything was so colorful, tasty and fresh!

They surprised us with brunch... mini-fied! Bite sized crepes, quiche, parfait (with HOMEMADE GRANOLA!) and eggs benedict... YUM. My favorite dish? The parfait. Did I mention the HOMEMADE GRANOLA? I was in heaven.

Their kitchen is small, but the perfect size since they cook everything on-site. Yup, totally fresh, at-your-service cuisine.

Happy Anniversary to The Modern Honolulu

August 18, 2012

In true fashion, The Modern Honolulu threw a swanky mahalo party to celebrate their one year anniversary and to meet the owners of the property who flew in from Tahoe. What an honor! This venue is truly a hidden gem in Waikiki that my couples are falling head over heels for. Cheers and congrats to Renee, Lisa, V and the fabulous Modern team!

Sip your favorite mojito or say 'I do' while watching the sun set over the harbor at one of two AH-MAZING spots. The tree-lined Sunrise Grove on the pool deck is a total show stopper for haute ceremonies.

The Modern truly lives up to its name with its sleek and stylish setting. Perfect for the posh wedding of your dreams!

We love to see this venue transform from sexy and sleek to elegant and enchanted.

Gourmet finger food... 'nuff said.

Getting Glam!

August 17, 2012

Brides deserve to feel and look their best on the big day. After all, all eyes will be on you! We went nuts when Christine Gardner, owner of Flaunt Makeovers, offered this special rate for Fred+Kate brides... Bride hair and make up (including lashes and a touch up kit!) for $120.00. Ask us about the details and we will GLAM, I mean, HOOK you up!
